Need some cute gifts to go with the homemade Hot Cocoa jars?

Try these super cute chocolate spoons. Maybe a little messy to make, but I think they’re adorable ;)

Use whatever “toppings” you like. You can probably get really fancy with this, but I’m more simple. And so are our kids (thank goodness).

Use them to stir your hot cocoa, coffee, hot milk, or just suck on it, like a sucker (Shh, I may or may not have done that).

You’ll need:

  • White, dark, milk chocolate melting chips. I use the white to fill the spoons and the chocolates to drizzle

  • Whatever decorations you’d like… Sprinkles, crushed candy canes, Mini chocolate chips, etc.

  • Small sandwich bags.

  • Oops, almost forgot, SPOONS. You can use the abundance of extra spoons in your drawer that seem to mysteriously accumulate, or plastic. I used both.

You can melt the chocolate(s) in a double boiler, but I don’t have 3 separate ones so did the white chips in a double boiler and the chocolate in separate small bowls set inside another bowl with super hot water.

  1. Melt your melting chips in separate containers. 1 Cup white, 1/4 Cup each chocolate. Remember, keep them separate. To make the chocolate a little smoother I added 1/4 -1/2 tsp coconut oil. These amounts just depend on how many you want to make, or eat.

  2. Use a regular size plate with a small plate turned upside down to rest the spoons (see picture)

  3. Cut a VERY tiny tip off the corner of 2 sandwich bags.

  4. Spoon the melted white chocolate into the spoons you are using. I tried dipping, but you just don’t get enough chocolate in the spoon.

  5. Spoon a little melted dark or milk chocolate in separate sandwich bags.

  6. Drizzle with whichever chocolate on each filled spoon and sprinkle with your choice of toppings.

The end. It’s that simple.

You can tie the spoons to the jars of hot cocoa mix, or wrap in plastic and tie with a ribbon for stocking stuffers.

Merry Christmas ya filthy animals! Our tradition is to watch Home Alone on Christmas Eve. Just getting in the spirit ;)
