Individual Hot Cocoa Mix
Hey fellow procrastinators! How’s the holiday season treatin’ ya?
Crazy, right?
It’s hard for me to get good stocking stuffers. Or that ‘thing’ for the person that has everything.
I can’t go give them a bar of Goat milk soap or lotion. My kids would think that’s pretty lame since they can just go grab it from our store whenever they need it.
So I have to get a little creative.
This year I thought it would be fun to torture myself with making MORE things other than the above-mentioned soap/lotion, lip balm, bath bombs, sugar scrub, body butter… Glutton for punishment I guess.
Hot cocoa mix.
Now, we always have a homemade hot cocoa mix in a big container around here. It’s just better than the packets from the store. But this is individual jars of layered mix..
Yeah, cute. (can you hear the sarcasm.. ;)
What you’ll need:
4oz ball jars
powdered milk
cocoa powder (I used black cocoa powder, smells like Oreos & I bought it at Country Cupboard in Fairbury)
sugar (I use unrefined cane sugar)
pinch of salt
mini chocolate chips
crushed peppermint candy canes (optional)
mini marshmallows
Next, layer in this order in the jar. I did not use the funnel, it was too awkward.
1 TBSP Sugar
Pinch of salt
2 TBSP Cocoa powder
2 TBSP Powdered milk
1 TBSP mini choc chips and/or crushed peppermint
Add mini marshmallows until full
Pop the lid on. Done. When ready to use, dump the mix into a mug and add 1 cup of boiling water. Stir with chocolate spoons if desired!
Merry Christmas!
